Last Friday, KZ’s debut as a “challenger” had brought the house down. Singing her own version of Adele's “Rolling in the Deep,” the Kapamilya star showed spunk, energy and amazing vocal range. The singer-performer even added a bit of “Pinoy pride” as she rapped in Tagalog in the middle of the song. Her performance impressed the judges and the audience that she immediately earned the top spot for that week.<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />Jessie J also also wowed with "Ain't Nobody." She earned the second spot for the week. The rankings were based on votes from the studio audience.<br /><br />KZ will move to the next round and the show will welcome a new challenger.<br /><br /><b>Meeting her ‘idol’</b><br /><br />KZ Tandingan, who rose to popularity for winning the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012 revealed that Jessie J had a huge influence on her music. It can be recalled that during KZ’s stint in “Your Face Sounds Familiar” in 2015, she even performed as Jessie J.<br /><br />Prior to the start of their competition, KZ met up with her ‘idol’ international star, Jessie J. The two singers shared a heartwarming hug as KZ tried to explain her admiration for the Flashlight star. An emotional KZ asked Jessie J, “Who would compete with you?”<br /><br />She went on to share, “A big chunk of a big chunk of me as an artist is because of you.”<br /><br /><b>KZ very thankful for “challenging but exciting journey”</b><br /><br />On her Instagram account, KZ also shared her excitement for the opportunity. She posted, “I’m so glad i finally get to tell you guys. I’m blessed to be chosen as one of the participants in China’s Biggest Singing Competition, “Singer.” I’ll be coming in as a the first international challenger on the 5th episode.”<br /><br />The Dabawenya singer added that she’s asking for support and prayers from her kababayans, “Please keep our team in your prayers as we step into this unfamiliar and challenging but exciting journey. <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">MANILA, Philippines - A taxi driver from Davao is now gaining popularity for his impersonation of President Rodrigo Duterte.<br /><br />A Facebook post by Rachelle Oyette Dequina on Thursday, February 1, is making the rounds online after she took a video of her taxi driver. Dequina shared that she was on the way home from work and was terribly tired. She asked the driver if his rate meter is already calibrated. When he answered not yet, Dequina was ready to into an argument. You can notice that the shopper had tried to place his body bag right in front of her, as what authorities had reminded every shopper so they can easily see it. But, two woman (in black and white) pretending to be shoppers arrived. They tried to position themselves in between the shopper (in white) and alternately moving beside her until we can clearly see one of them opened the body bag.<br /><br />It only takes a few seconds for the shopper to notice that her body bag is open and is now empty. She starts to panic and runs towards another person probably her husband. Before, we are used to seeing thieves run and hide immediately after snatching but the two woman remained on the spot and continued to look at bags. The shopper tried to face the two women but for some reason couldn’t confront them. After a few minutes, the thieves decided to leave.<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />The whole scene only took less than 2 minutes. Netizens shared their anger and frustration of the thieves’ new “modus.” The video had gone viral with 3.7 million views as of press time.<br /><br />Again, this holiday season let’s all be extra careful and mindful of our things. Convinced, the family dug up the girl’s corpse and were surprised to see that her body was still soft.<br /><br />Moreover, witnesses claim that the girl urinated and defacated several times giving them more reason to believe that she was still alive.<br /><br />Unfortunately, the family decided to bury Jenny Rose again as she didn’t come back to life after 24 hours. <br /><br />The team of Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho (KMJS) decided to seek the help of experts to shed light on the peculiar incident. <br /><br />In his interview with KMJS, medico legal officer Dr. Jay Jimenez explained that it’s normal for corpses to release body fluids since air produced from decomposition can push out body contents.<br /><br />“When a person dies, part of the decomposition process is the production of gas. It is conceivable po that the gas can push the contents of the intestines out, kahit sa bladder out. In the video, Li can be seen mimicking Davila as she crosses a river along with other members of the TV crew in a supposed episode of The Correspondents, the longest-running investigative documentary show of ABS-CBN hosted by Davila which aired from November 17, 1998 to October 22, 2010.<br /><br />Li’s spot-on impersonation of the 46-year-old Pinay journalist quickly captured the attention of netizens with the video amassing over 10,000 shares, more than 25,000 reactions and nearly 725,000 views since it was posted on Monday, September 4.<br /><br />Netizens weren’t the only ones impressed by Li’s talent. When asked to comment about the viral video, the ABS-CBN news anchor said: "Absolute good vibes! Ang galing niya!! Made me miss The 'Correspondents'! Congrats Kaladkaren.”<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />Aside from the voice and manner of speaking, Li and Davila also have similarities career-wise. Both graduated from the College of Mass Communications at the University of the Philippines Diliman. While Davila mainly worked either as a reporter or TV and radio host in both GMA and ABS-CBN networks, Li worked in the same industry as a creative writer and floor director for GMA’s Eat Bulaga and writer for TV 5. In 2015, he was able to purchase this type of coin for P10,000.<br /><br />Roel’s cousin John, not his real name, served as the middle man for transactions. Although many expressed interest in buying the coin, no one really bought it. Most of them only took pictures of the coin.<br /><br />The cousins believe that they had been used people who posed as buyers who used the photos to scam other people.<br /><b><br /></b> <b>Real or fantasy?</b><br /><br />In order to verify if the rare P1 coin really exists, the staff of KMJS consulted several experts. <br /><br />Boyet Manuel of the Philippine Numismatic and Antiquarian Society believes that the P1 coin owned by Roel has been manipulated as it is thinner compared to regular coins issued in 1972 and 1974. His scandal was captured in video and went viral.<br /><br />Despite of the negative reactions and criticisms that Baron received from the concerned netizens and showbiz colleagues, he refused to change and maintained his bad-boy image instead.<br /><br />Just this morning, another video scandal was uploaded and currently circulating in all social media platforms showing Geisler going berserk in front of students and trying to pick-up a fight.<br /><br />A certain Khalil Versoza, narrated the story behind the scandal. Versoza, a fine-arts student in UP detailed that he and his classmates had a school production and contacted Baron Geisler to star the prod in exchange for an un-disclosed talent fee. Definitely, this is not the first time that Geisler got into a fight. The netizens are now starting to question him if he’s into illegal drugs or alcohol addiction once again. But it’s very clear that Baron has violated the law for attacking the students.<br /><br />Many say that Geisler is really out of his mind and went below the belt for picking on the students. Some doubt the veracity of the video. Since this is all about school production, it could be social experiment or even part of the actual production.<br /><br />As of publishing time, both Versoza and Geisler have not given any further comments on the video. Should this be proven true, the students can file a criminal case against the actor. There are cases that children got injured or even died after getting crushed and severed by the escalator machineries. The boy, who was obviously not interested in his dad’s business, was fascinated by the fast-moving rubber handrails of the escalator. Amazed by it, the kid had decided to play, placed his left and right hands on the handrail, pulled it back and forth. But lo and behold, the poor boy lost his hand control and was completely overpowered by the force of the escalator. At the end of the video, it looks like the boy was safely recovered as the people around them who hurried towards them in order to see the accident went back where they were.<br /><br />Majority of the netizens who had seen the video, put the blame on the boy’s parents because obviously it’s not a machine error but merely a human error. As guardians, we are always responsible for our children’s safety whether at home or in public places. Yes, there will be security personnel in business establishments and at parks, but leaving our kids all by themselves is really a no-brainer. They’re young, they’re curious almost about anything and we must always anticipate the perils that might come along the way anywhere and anytime. It is not only killer and terrifying escalators that we should be worried about, let us also put in our minds the lawless criminals targeting children for their personal gains.<br /><br />This is not the only incident that a kid got involved in an escalator fiasco. We’ve seen this over and over again, perhaps, hundreds of times online. We should have learned our lessons already. Always keep an eye on our little ones is the best way to prevent misfortunes for we really can’t predict what will happen if we blink our eyes. It really pays to lock sight on our children. It will surely keep them from any harm.<br /><br />Should mishaps like this happen, always get the attention of the crowd especially the marshalls for help.
