MANILA, Philippines - Light Rail Transit (LRT), Metro Rail Transit (MRT) and the Philippine National Railways (PNR) schedule have been released for December 24, 25, 31, 2015 (Christmas Holidays) and Jan 1, 2016 (New Year) operations.

LRT Schedule Christmas Holidays 2015LRT and MRT Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera announced on Twitter that both LRT Lines 1 and 2 will have shorter operating hours during the coming holidays instead of the usual 9:00 p.m. (Baclaran) and 9:30 p.m (Roosevelt) last train schedule.
The last train of the LRT 1 will leave Baclaran and Roosevelt stations at 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively on December 24, while the last trip would be at 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. respectively on December 31.
The LRT1 is the oldest mass transit system in Southeast Asia that runs from Baclaran in Parañaque City to Roosevelt Avenue in Quezon City.
For LRT2, the last train on December 24 leaves Santolan at 8:00 p.m. while the Recto train leaves at 8:30 p.m. On December 31, the last trip from Santolan station is 7:00 p.m. and the last train from Recto leaves at 7:30 p.m.
The revenue operating time still starts at 5:00 a.m on December 24 and 31. Cabrera added there will be regular operations on December 25, 2015 (Friday) and January 1, 2016.
MRT Schedule Christmas Holidays 2015The office of Metro Rail Transit Authority Director for Operations, Renato San Jose, said a proposed schedule for Christmas 2015 is still for approval at the general manager's office.
MRT holiday schedule will be posted here once announced online.
On Friday, Liberal Party bet Leni Robredo urged the government to extend the operating hours of MRT this holiday season as this might lessen traffic congestion.
Normally, MRT operates from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m during weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
MRT runs along EDSA from Taft Avenue in Pasay City to North Avenue in Quezon City.
