" width="560" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach arrives in Manila for grand homecoming. <br />Photo Credit: missphilippines2015/Instagram</td></tr></tbody></table>Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has arrived in Manila early Saturday, January 23 for her grand homecoming.<br /><br />This is the first time Pia has visited the country after the controversial win at the Miss Universe pageant late last year- wrong announcement of winner by Steve Harvey, uncalled statements of her fellow beauty queens, and condemnation of her fans over the rusty pots at her New York apartment.<br /><br />The reigning Miss Universe gave a short message to the Filipinos during the mini press conference at NAIA.<br /><br />"Napaka saya ko po, 'di po ako nakatulog kagabi dahil sobrang excited po akong finally maka-uwi na. Ayoko po sanang magreveal muna ng mga experiences ko, dahi ise-save ko po ito sa press conference na mangyayari bukas. Kaya sana po pumunta kayo doon. Napakasaya ko po na nakauwi na ako dito sa Pilipinas. Grabe, parang akong lalaban ulit."<br /><br />After a day of rest, Pia will embark on a tight four-day schedule beginning on Monday (January 25) in which she will pay a courtesy call to President Aquino in Malacañan and in the Senate then heading later in the afternoon for the Grand Homecoming Parade traversing the three cities of Manila, Makati and Quezon City. The activity for that day will end as she will grace the Araneta Center Parade. Photo Credit: @senmiriam/Twitter</td></tr></tbody></table>As part of the IDLO International Advisory Council, Santiago will "provide critical, forward-looking guidance on the issues IDLO tackles in order to make a culture of justice real for all the people of the world," IDLO Director-General Irene Khan said in a letter to the senator.<br /><br />The IDLO is an intergovernmental organization devoted to promoting the rule of law. Khan said that its advisory council is composed of "individuals of international reputation for extraordinary leadership in addressing rule of law, justice, and development issues."<br /><br />Besides Gates, council members include former Ireland President Mary Robinson; former Senegal President Abdou Diouf; Abdel-Latif Al-Hamad, chairman of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development; Albie Sachs, former justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa; and former U.S. ambassador Thomas Pickering.<br /><br />"I am honored yet humbled to receive the invitation from IDLO. It challenges me to place my lifetime career as a lawyer and legislator in a larger frame of service for the pursuit of justice and international development," Santiago said.<br /><br />Before being invited to the IDLO Council, Santiago became the first Filipino and the first Asian from a developing country to be elected judge of the International Criminal Court, the independent tribunal that prosecutes individuals for war crimes and crimes against humanity.<br /><br />She waived her post in 2013 due to chronic fatigue syndrome, which was later diagnosed as lung cancer, stage four. In October, Santiago announced that her cancer has been arrested, and that she is running for president in the 2016 polls.<br /><br />"If elected in May, and with the consent of IDLO, I expect to serve both as president of the Philippines and member of the International Advisory Council," the senator said.<br /><br />Santiago was presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court in Quezon City when she first catapulted into popularity, receiving numerous awards for her no-postponement policy and for unburdening the court of backlogs.<br /><br />She was then appointed Commissioner of Immigration and Deportation, for which she won the Asian Nobel Prize, the Ramon Magsaysay Award for government service. Santiago also became Secretary of Agrarian Reform. In 1992, she ran for president and never conceded defeat.<br /><br />At the Senate, Santiago is known as the resident constitutional law and international law expert. She has Doctor of Juridical Science and Master of Laws degrees from the University of Michigan, and a law degree, cum laude, from the University of the Philippines.</div>

Moments later, Rosario was shocked when one of the policemen suddenly approached her and gave her a New Testament Bible.<br /><br />“Makakatuwa na makakita ng mga pulis na namimigay ng libereng bible sa ilalim ng init ng araw.. Ito din ang kaunaunahang pagkakataon na may taong nag bigay sakin ng bible, pulis pa,” she wrote on Facebook.<br /><br />(I’m happy to see policemen handing out free Bibles under the scorching heat of the sun. The reigning Miss Universe will arrive in Manila tomorrow. After a day of rest, Wurtzbach will embark on a tight four-day schedule beginning on Monday (January 25) in which she will pay a courtesy call to President Aquino in Malacañan and in the Senate then heading later in the afternoon for the Grand Homecoming Parade traversing the three cities of Manila, Makati and Quezon City. The activity for that day will end as Wurtzbach will grace the Araneta Center Parade. Motorists and commuters are advised to take alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience on their journey in which the parade will take place.<br /><br />On Tuesday (January 26), Wurtzbach will visit the Offices of the City Mayors as well as the House of the Representatives as a courtesy call to them. The Wednesday (January 27) was alloted as a Charity Day for the Miss Universe to payback the Filipino community with their support on her. <br /><br />On the last day of her visit (January 28), supporters of Wurtzbach will be treated to another chance to savor the Miss Universe crown with her at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in which the Miss Universe Homecoming Special will be held.<br /><br />Wurtzbach then will continue on her preparation for her responsibilities as Miss Universe for a year after her homecoming.
