Another glitch? Passengers walk to station after MRT train detaches

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">MANILA, Philippines - Passengers faced another MRT glitch as one coach detached from the others.<br /><br />On Thursday morning, November 16, passengers aboard MRT 3 from Buendia station faced the terrible inconvenience of walking to the next station, Ayala Avenue. A netizen, Ivan Caballero Villegas posted on his Facebook account that the coach they were riding on, unhooked from the rest of the MRT train and was left in the middle of the rails. <br /><br />Villegas captioned his photos, <i>“Eksena sa MRT. He released an official statement saying, “Around 130 to 140 passengers were evacuated by the combined security guards from Buendia and Ayala Station.”<br /><br />“Passengers were evacuated from the detached train going to Ayala Station platform in about 8 to 10 minutes,” he added. MRT operations resumed by 9:30 AM.<br /><br />Back in August, MRT suffered 3 technical glitches in one day that forced their trains to stop and unload their passengers. Chavez said, “Angeline's arm is reconnected to her body; the bone, the nerve and vessels are reconnected. She is under observation at least until Friday.”<br /><br />Chavez also stated that Fernando cut her arm from the armpit after falling in between the two train cars.<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />Angeline’s mother, Gloria also confirmed that her daughter has a history of fainting usually after she feels dizzy around a crowd.<br /><br />Chavez further explained that the DOTr will investigate on the accident to look into the readiness of the personnel during emergency situations. <br /><br />This came after a netizen, Celia Castillo posted on Facebook on how ill-equipped the staff were during the accident. Castillo posted, “Good thing one woman was courageous enough to tend to [Fernando].”<br /><br />“She was asking for a cloth to use [on Fernando]. I gave my cardigan. She tied it on [Fernando’s] upper arm to hopefully stop the bleeding. And I had to tell the guards, please get a medic, call an ambulance. Lahat natataranta (Everyone was panicking). No staff had the courage to take the arm from the rails.
