Last Friday, KZ’s debut as a “challenger” had brought the house down. Singing her own version of Adele's “Rolling in the Deep,” the Kapamilya star showed spunk, energy and amazing vocal range. The singer-performer even added a bit of “Pinoy pride” as she rapped in Tagalog in the middle of the song. Her performance impressed the judges and the audience that she immediately earned the top spot for that week.<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />Jessie J also also wowed with "Ain't Nobody." She earned the second spot for the week. The rankings were based on votes from the studio audience.<br /><br />KZ will move to the next round and the show will welcome a new challenger.<br /><br /><b>Meeting her ‘idol’</b><br /><br />KZ Tandingan, who rose to popularity for winning the first season of The X Factor Philippines in 2012 revealed that Jessie J had a huge influence on her music. It can be recalled that during KZ’s stint in “Your Face Sounds Familiar” in 2015, she even performed as Jessie J.<br /><br />Prior to the start of their competition, KZ met up with her ‘idol’ international star, Jessie J. The two singers shared a heartwarming hug as KZ tried to explain her admiration for the Flashlight star. An emotional KZ asked Jessie J, “Who would compete with you?”<br /><br />She went on to share, “A big chunk of a big chunk of me as an artist is because of you.”<br /><br /><b>KZ very thankful for “challenging but exciting journey”</b><br /><br />On her Instagram account, KZ also shared her excitement for the opportunity. She posted, “I’m so glad i finally get to tell you guys. I’m blessed to be chosen as one of the participants in China’s Biggest Singing Competition, “Singer.” I’ll be coming in as a the first international challenger on the 5th episode.”<br /><br />The Dabawenya singer added that she’s asking for support and prayers from her kababayans, “Please keep our team in your prayers as we step into this unfamiliar and challenging but exciting journey. Family and friends of Vic and Pauleen defend Baby Talitha from bashers

She said, “If there are people who think that Tali looks like Ryzza, no problem. ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ Movie Review: It All Ends Here

James’ “Fifty Shades” novels, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are back reprising their very much in love characters, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively. This time, however in “Fifty Shades Freed,” the two are making things official by getting married. And it has always been the thorn of films based on novel, given that chances are, the majority of people watching the film have also read their source materials. So the best way to cater to it is cleverly cherry pick plot points to include in a two-hour motion picture.<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />Unfortunately, while “Freed” was able to pinpoint which narratives they want on the movie, the manner with which they were all slapped together makes it feel disjointed. For some reason, it felt like there was so much happening, but at the same time, it seems like no character progression was happening. The first several minutes of the film felt like just a flurry of images of the newly weds in their honeymoon around Europe. Granted that her relationship with Christian is deeply rooted on love, “Freed” makes her look like a fake heroine. At some point, she insisted on not coming to New York with her husband because of work, but when he whisked her away in a vacation in Colorado after just a couple of days, she didn’t have any objections whatsoever.<br /><br />The same thing happened at work, while she was initially very awkward of her new position and how she actually got it, she later warmed up to the idea that she could actually call his boss by his first name. Johnson has the acting prowess to actually be a charming but strong headed character based on her other work, but her characterization in this film is too corroded to even know what her personality us. <br /><br />Additionally, for an R-rated film supposedly leaning heavy on intimate scenes, the film, much like its predecessors, was nothing but lazy when it comes to filming s*x scenes between the two leads from a creative standpoint. Other than the nud*ty and some curse words, there’s really nothing artistically pushing it to have an Adult rating. <br /><br />Ana and Christian’s making love is a core element of their relationship, and yet, “Freed” cheapened with unpassionate coitus between the two. It also didn’t help that Johnson has already started making inarticulate sounds even before she had contact with Dornan. While the books created a huge fan community, phoning it in, knowing that readers of the books will see it seems to be a bit lazy. And it’s not like Dornan and Johnson are bad actors, both have done great work in other projects. So why does it feel like their main responsibility as lead stars of the film is to look good n*ked first and acting just comes second?<br /><br />The “Fifty Shades” film threequel had a good chance of making something good out of the novels which were frowned upon by many. Folks behind the production could’ve taken the creative liberty to make the films become more thoughtful and better crafted than their source material as a way to send a message to naysayers. The word "tutting" is a street dance style based on angular movements which are supposed to stylize the poses seen on reliefs in the art of ancient Egypt, and refers to "King Tut." This time, he was forced to confront his issues and not take the easy way out again. The premise is quite overused already, but the manner in which the narrative was utilized in a fresh way. Judy Ann Santos and Angelica Panganiban play Cindy and Lianne, who coincidentally meet due to being married to Gary (Joross Gamboa) and Felix (JC De Vera), who apparently were having an affair together. Sure, “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes” oftentimes cross the fence when it comes to reality and campy ridiculousness, but throughout its course, it was able to maintain the core of its story, which is still rooted on real-world situations and experienced by some of us.<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />Lana’s approach on the tricky LGBTQ aspect of the story is both fun but non-fictional. More importantly, not in a way that is a blatant insult to members of that community, and the relationships they have. While it’s true that in the end, Gary and Felix’s technically sinful bond (not because of their sexual orientation but because they are married to other people) is the movie’s central plot device that kicks off the events that follows, it is handled in a way that is both fun and still sensitive to those who find themselves in the same hot spot. <br /><br />Despite the different twist in the cheating narrative, “Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes” was able to execute its plot points and even script in a way that it’s not alienating other people who may not be in the exact same situation, but can relate to the predicament. The Revenger Squad <br />2. Ang Panday <br />3. Siargao<br />4. Haunted Forest<br /><br />The other four remaining entries still earned pretty good. All were able to reach more than P30 million, which is the highest in the recent MMFF history.<br /><br />All eight MMFF entries have already earned a total of P1.5 billion in gross sales. But the amount is still growing as some entries are still being shown in cinemas.<br /><br />MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer proudly explained that all eight entries earned very well, "Normally, may nagsi-single digit [na box-office performance] yung lowest. Yung lowest na ito, matter of millions lang ang difference. More than P30 million ang nakuha nung nasa bottom four.”<br /><br />Bing Advincula, Vice-chairman of the MMFF selection committee also confirmed that most of the sales came from the top 1 and 2 entries, "Sixty percent of the total box-office gross came from The Revenger Squad and Ang Panday."<br /><br />The top 1 entry, "The Revenger Squad" had already earned more than P500 million.
