There will be child stars for kids and families to enjoy; pop performers and teen stars for teenagers; top bands and DJs who will be playing popular modern hits for yuppies; and retro bands that will be playing the music of the 70s, 80s, and 90s.<br /><br />The Makati New Year’s Eve Countdown 2016 performers include Bamboo, The Dawn, Gloc-9, Kyla, KZ Tandingan, and Ella Cruz.<br /><br />A 15-minute grand fireworks display will immediately follow the midnight countdown. Meanwhile, the after-party program will be filled with music by the country’s premier DJs, such as DJ Ace Ramos with MC Pao and DJ X-factor. The party will wrap up at around 3 am on January 1.<br /><br />For security and safety, the event is strictly off-limits to pregnant women, those who are sick, and children below three feet tall. Pets, weapons like guns and other sharp objects, any kind of food and drinks including those in PET bottles are likewise prohibited. Wearing slippers or high-heeled shoes, carrying large backpacks, and smoking are also not allowed.<br /><br />Makati has not celebrated the New Year’s Eve countdown for the past two years due to the city government’s decision to sympathize with the victims of Typhoons Yolanda and Ruby.</div>
