Marcos supporters gather in Luneta amid Plan B allegation

PHOTO CREDIT: Inquirer</td></tr></tbody></table>On Tuesday, May 10, Marcos alleged irregularities in the partial and unofficial counting of the votes for the vice-presidential race claiming that the Aquino administration’s plan B is in full swing.<br /><br />Marcos said: “Talagang yung napapag-usapan na Plan B ay mukhang talagang itinutuloy nila dahil iniiipit ang pag-transmit ng ibang mga boto na galing sa balwarte ko parang pinapalabas na nangunguna si Cong. Robredo.”<br /><br />(They are really pushing Plan B and they are preventing the transmission of votes from my stronghold to make it appear that Cong. Robredo is leading.)<br /><br />Earlier, the Ilocano lawmaker revealed Liberal Party’s alleged Plan B to ensure that President Benigno Aquino III will not end up in jail after the National Elections.<br /><br />“The Plan B is to ensure victory for Leni Robredo and remove Duterte via impeachment. In this way, Noynoy [the President’s nickname] and his minions will avoid being jailed,” Marcos revealed in a news conference.<br /><br />Meanwhile, Marcos’ running mate and losing presidential candidate Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has also accused the administration of “manufacturing numbers” for Robredo.<br /><br /><div id="unruly_placeholder"></div>In a statement sent to reporters, Santiago said: “The roller coaster ride of vice presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. invites comparison with a garrison state. In such a state, the authoritarian government feels free to manufacture numbers as they are needed.”<br /><br />Political analyst Jan Robert Go, on the other hand, believes that there is no reason to doubt the vice presidential results if you trust the partial and unofficial presidential tally.<br /><br />Go explained: "When you put in the ballot, it (vote counting machine) reads the same ballot. Few months ago, Pinoy Pride and Boxing Ring Icon, Cong. As per COMELEC rule, i.e. Resolution 10083; In case of a tie, a draw lots must be done in order to break it and determine the winner regardless of the position of the candidates who are running for government office. Instead of draw lots, both parties have agreed to do a “coin toss” as the tie-breaker and deciding factor.<br /><br />At exactly 11:00PM, both Valerio and Villanueva sent their representatives to the local COMELEC office to witness the unusual rubber-match. Election Officer Danao used a 5 peso coin to determine Valerio and Villanueva’s political fate.<br /><br />Joni Villanueva, sister of Joel “Tesdaman” Villanueva who’s currently in the 2nd place for the senatorial race picked the “tails” as her choice. Escudero is on distant third with 15 percent and tied with Cayetano, who got 13 percent. Honasan and Trillanesare at the tail end, each with 3 percent.<br /><br />On Monday, the candidates casted their votes on their respective polling precinct.<br /><br />According to Comelec, more than 40 million voters are expected to report to 92,000 precincts across the country to cast their ballots in the country’s second automated presidential election.<br /><br />Based on Comelec rules, the candidate with the highest number of votes wins the vice presidency. In case when two or more candidates have the highest number of votes, one of them shall be chosen by the vote of a majority of all the members of both Houses of the Congress, voting separately.<br /><br />The canvassing of votes for the vice-presidential including the presidential race is the sole jurisdiction of Congress sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, according to the poll body.<br /><br />The Congress is given not later than thirty days after the day of the election to canvass results from all provinces, independent cities that have their own legislative districts, diplomatic posts, and local absentee voters. <br /><br />The winners shall be inaugurated on June 30, 2016.<br /><br /><b>2016 automated election system (AES)</b><br /><br />The May 2016 election is the country's  third automated polls after the 2010 (presidential) and 2013 (senatorial) polls.<br /><br />When voting close on Monday, the vote counting machines (VCMs) transmit the vote counts – also known as election returns or ERs – to the different servers and canvassing centers in the AES.<br /><br />From the VCMs, the election returns (ERs) are transmitted to the central server, to a transparency server, and to the municipal board of canvassers (MBOC).<br /><br />From the MBOC, the results are transmitted to the provincial board of canvassers (PBOC), where the results are collated and then transmitted to the national board of canvassers (NBOC), where the results for national positions are canvassed.<br /><br />The MBOC and PBOC also separately beam ERs to the central server.<br /><br />Like us on Facebook, Follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our email list to receive real-time results.</div>
