VIRAL: What’s wrong with this billboard in Batangas?

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">In the Philippines, it’s not unusual to see government project billboards accompanied by the name and a large photo of the politician in charge of the project.<br /><br />Despite the Aquino administration’s campaign against putting faces on billboards, posters and banners of government projects, these types of materials are still rampant in the country.  As the campaign period for the 2016 elections draws near, we should expect more politicians to use project billboards to promote themselves in the coming days.<br /><br />While it’s certainly not strange to encounter politicians’ self-advertisements on project billboards, one particular billboard in Batangas has captured the attention of netizens for a particular reason. <br /><br />On Facebook, netizen Jb Angeles shared a photo of a billboard of a certain government project in Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas. An arrow pointing to the photo of Ilagan is found in between the two.<br /><br />Merely basing on the billboard, it’s safe to assume that the taxpayers’ money goes to Ilagan. <br /><br />Angeles’ post has quickly gone viral amassing 836 shares on Facebook as of this writing. While many netizens blamed the layout artist for the epic billboard failure, several netizens sarcastically pointed out that Ilagan should be re-elected for his “honesty”.<br /><br />The  Anti-Epal policy of the Aquino administration urges public officials  who launch programs for their constituents not to put their names and faces on signage to promote themselves. It says that GMA continued to pull away from its closest competitor in National Urban Philippines, increasing its lead over ABS-CBN to 5.7 points. Driven by its strong performance across all dayparts, GMA posted a 39.3 percent total day household audience share in NUTAM, beating ABS-CBN’s 33.6 percent as well as TV5’s 8.2 percent.<br /><br /><br /><b>ABS-CBN remains on top of ratings game in November</b><br /><br />The Kapamilya Network kept a stronghold of the primetime block hitting an average audience share of 49% nationwide versus rival’s 33%. The primetime block is the most important part of the day when most Filipinos watch TV and advertisers put a larger chunk of their investment in to reach more consumers effectively.<br /><br />Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,609 urban and rural homes that represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population, while the other ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen reportedly has only 1,980 homes based solely in urban areas that represent only 57% of the Philippine TV viewing population.<br /><br />Still on top of the most watched programs list in the previous month is “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” with an average national TV rating of 39.9% followed by “Pangako Sa’Yo” with 34.8% and newcomer “Dance Kids,” which instantly landed on the third spot with 31.6% after only three weeks on air.<br /><br />“Wansapanataym” climbed two notches to number four from previous month’s sixth with 31.5% followed by primetime newscast “TV Patrol” (31.4%) and weekend favorites “MMK” (28.2%) and “Home Sweetie Home” (28%).<br /><br />Primetime series “Pasion De Amor” and comedy show “Goin Bulilit,” meanwhile, tied at the ninth spot both scoring an average national TV rating of 26%.<br /><br />ABS-CBN also fared better than its competition in other territories such as Balance Luzon (areas in Luzon outside Mega Manila) where it scored a national average audience share of 42% vs GMA’s 40%; in Visayas with 53% vs rival’s 29% and in Mindanao with 54% vs GMA’s 29%.<br /><br /><br /><b>GMA Network strengthens nationwide ratings lead in November</b><br /><br />The Kapuso Network maintained its robust performance in the daytime blocks in NUTAM with its audience share in the morning block reaching 36.3 percent, 6.1 points ahead of ABS-CBN’s 30.2 percent and 25.6 points ahead of TV5’s 10.7 percent. GMA was also largely ahead in the afternoon block with 46.4 percent, up 18.2 points from ABS-CBN’s 28.2 percent and up 39.3 points from TV5’s 7.1 percent.<br /><br />Leading across all dayparts, GMA also kept its stronghold in viewer-rich Urban Luzon and Mega Manila, which represent 77 percent and 59 percent, respectively, of all urban TV households in the country.<br />In Urban Luzon,  GMA recorded 44.1 percent, leading ABS-CBN’s 29 percent by 15.1 points and TV5’s 7.3 percent by 36.8 points; while in Mega Manila, GMA ruled with 46.3 percent, ahead of ABS-CBN’s 25.5 percent by 20.8 points and TV5’s 7.6 percent by 38.7 points.<br /><br />The Kapuso Network also asserted its dominance in the list of top-rating programs in NUTAM with 18 out of the 30 top programs belonging to GMA based on Nielsen data.
