This figure is 39% lower than the five-year average and 45% lower compared to the same period last year. No death was reported.<br /><br />Most (51) of the cases came from the National Capital Region, followed by Northern Mindanao (12), Davao Region (11), and Cagayan Valley (10). At the National Capital Region, Manila has the most number of cases (22), followed by Pasig (10). Las Piñas, Mandaluyong, and Pasay had three cases each.<br /><br />Of the 139 cases of fireworks injuries, 87% were males whose age ranged from 3-68 years. There were 51 cases (37%) children less than 10 years old and 102 (73%) were active users.<br /><br />The top causes of injuries were piccolo (67%), unknown firecrackers (6%), and five star, camara, and boga with 4% each.<br /><br />“We can celebrate the holiday season without fireworks. It has maximum winds of 45 kph near the center and forecast to move West at 11 kph.<br /><br />Typhoon Seniang expected landfall is on Monday morning (December 29) in the vicinity of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur and associated with occasional rains with occasional gusty winds and moderate-heavy rainfall (7-15mm per hour).<br /><br /><b>Forecast Positions:</b><br /><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>24 hour (Tomorrow morning): 60 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.</li><li>48 hour (Tuesday morning): 120 km East of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.</li><li>72 hour (Wednesday morning): 170 km West of Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte</li></ul><br /><b>Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 (Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hrs) </b>was raised in 10 areas: Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Compostella Valley, Camiguin Island, Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon.<br /><br />These areas will have occasional rains with occasional gusty winds and may experience the following:<br /><ul style="text-align: left;"><li>Twigs and branches of trees maybe broken</li><li>Some banana plants may tilt or land flat on the ground</li><li>Rice in flowering stage may suffer significant damage</li><li>Some nipa and cogon houses maybe partially unroofed</li><li>Sea travel of small sea crafts and fishing boats is risky</li></ul><br />Caraga and the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Camiguin, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley will have rains with gusty winds. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.<br /><br />The estimated rainfall amount is from 7 – 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression.<br /><br />Residents in low lying and mountainous areas of the provinces with PSWS#1 as well as the rest of Mindanao are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. <br /><br />Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the Northern and Eastern seaboards of Luzon and the Eastern seaboard of Visayas.<br /><br />The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next weather bulletin.</div>
