According to Yabut, he was already in his house in Taytay, Rizal when he realized that Simon had left his phone inside his car. He immediately called Grab and reported the incident. Yabut was even able to talk with Simon on the phone and assured him that he will return his phone.<br /><br />The 30-year-old driver traveled to Kamuning, Quezon City and met up with his passenger. But instead of receiving a “thank you,” Yabut received countless of punches in his face. Simon even asked some of his neighbors to help beat him up. Yabut said, <i>“Noong binubugbog po niya ko, hinila niya po ko doon sa tatlong tao na nandoon, mga nagbabasura po at pinagsisigawan po niya sa mga nandon na magnanakaw daw po ako na pagtulungan ako pero 'di po tumulong sila.”</i><br /><i><br /></i> <br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><center><iframe allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="740" scrolling="no" src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fkielnigel.yabut%2Fposts%2F481384658923728&width=500" style="border: none; overflow: hidden;" width="500"></iframe></center><br />Police officers came and invited them to the police station but Simon refused. The two instead agreed to settle in the Barangay. <br /><br />In front of the Barangay officials, Yabut was surprised that Simon claimed that the driver tried to steal the phone. Simon defended his actions by saying that he tried to call Yabut a few times but the driver didn’t answer.<br /><br />Yabut was so appalled that the Barangay officials even urged him to admit to something that he didn’t do. He said, “Pagdating sa barangay, pilit po nila akong ano... pinapaamin. Ang gusto mangyari po ng passenger humingi lang daw po ako ng pasensya at makakauwi na ko at mangako lang daw ako na 'di ko daw siya babalikan kinaumagahan dahil sa ginawa niyang pambubugbog.”<br /><br />There have been no official statement from Simon as of to date. The viral post has already been shared almost 48,000 times already.<br /><br /><b>Drivers seek protection </b><br /><br />Several incidents have already been reported about Grab drivers being abused or become victims of violence by their passengers. Last September, a Grab driver named Edgar Luciapao was beaten up by three of his passengers and stole his Mitsubishi Montero. Luciapao was lucky enough to have escaped. <br /><br />One incident that made a huge mark last year the <a href="http://pinoybuzz.blogkorner.com/2017/10/grab-driver-shot-dead-carnappers-posing-as-regular-passengers.html" rel="nofollow">killing of a ‘model’ Grab driver</a> named Gerardo Maquidato Jr. Maquidato was shot in the head by carnappers who posed as passengers. The suspect surrendered to the authorities and claimed he had no intention of killing the driver but “nanlaban po kasi siya.”<br /><br /><b>Grab and Uber push for passenger and rider security </b><br /><br />Following the killing of Maquidato, Transport network companies (TNCs) Grab and Uber had a meeting with Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to discuss security measures that would protect not just passengers but also their drivers.<br /><br />One of the suggestions by Grab Philippines country head Brian Cu, was the creation of a common database of “blacklisted passengers.”<br /><br />Due to this, several drivers have already started asking for valid IDs from their passengers.<br /><br />Cu stated asked for a mandate that “TNCs to require passengers to update their profile on the respective ride-hailing apps by using Facebook login.”<br /><br />For their part, the LTFRB formed a special technical working group to focus on several directions that would help protect TNC drivers.<br /><br /><b>— The Summit Express</b></div>

He said, “This homeless man patiently waited to receive the holy communion, but when his time comes, he was neglected by the lay minister.” <br /><br />Triste felt so frustrated about witnessing the scene that he called the attention of the usher who simple replied, “‘Di namin siya napansin.”<br /><br />Triste reasoned that it was “very impossible because he fell in line and they saw him.”<br /><div id="unruly-unit"></div><br />After the mass, Triste still couldn’t let go of the seemingly bad feeling that he went up to the priest and told him about the incident. Triste was expecting for the Priest to be apologetic but was surprised when he nonchalantly answered, “Sabihin mo ‘wag sya magtatampo, next time dalawa ibibigay ko sa kanya.”<br /><br />The viral story caused the netizens to call out Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) for the seemingly insensitive remark of the priest and the alleged discrimination of the church towards the poor and needy. When a huge wave hit them, water started filling the small boat. They were all asked to jump off board and swim ashore. Floresca and Tom tried to cling to a bangkero but the waves kept on hitting them. Until Floresca realized she and Franco were the only ones left behind. She tried to call out to Franco but no longer hears any response. Floresca described the ordeal, <i>“Kaso wala, iniwan nila talaga kami, nalulunod na kami. Tapos nun, parang ako, nung time na yun, sabi ko, 'Wala na ‘to, wala na ‘to. Floresca clarified that Franco was rushed to Tom’s house where a nurse performed a CPR to try to revive him. The aspiring teacher had high hopes for the future until she met an accident in April this year. Ellen was told that she needed to undergo an operation on the head. Ellen stayed in the hospital for almost one month and was in a coma for 10 days. Upon waking up, Ellen described her situation on her Facebook, “my life’s dark, nothing is right.”<br /><br />Ellen admitted that there were a lot of people who discouraged her from taking the LET. She barely had a month to prepare and was already behind the review. But, Ellen felt motivated as she prayed and still took the exam.<br /><br />When she found out she <b><a href="http://pinoybuzz.blogkorner.com/2017/11/q-z-passers-list-september-2017-let-results-elementary.html" rel="nofollow">passed the LE</a></b>T, Ellen was over the moon. She praised and thanked God for answering her prayers. She exclaimed, “God is really amazing! The woman later confirmed that she was pregnant after undergoing pregnancy test and ultrasound scan in the hospital. <br /><br />However, doctors were unable to verify if the woman was indeed carrying a child since its shape was unusual and had a long body.<br /><br />Clueless with their daughter’s condition, the parents decided to bring the woman to several faith healers. However, out of 7 faith healers, only one claimed that he could remove what’s inside the woman’s womb.<br /><br />After undergoing almost a month of “treatment” with the faith healer, the woman reportedly gave birth to a creature similar to a snake in front of her parents, relatives and several witnesses. Allegedly, the snake’s teeth resembled that of piranha’s.<br /><br />Although the snake was still alive when the woman gave birth to it, it was the mother who killed it using a sharpened bamboo called a “bagakay”. According to Tulauan, she used GrabCar to travel from Gateway Cubao to Moriones, Tondo and booked the service of a driver named Carlo Santiago Diaz.<br /><br />Since she was alone with the driver, Tulauan can’t help but become suspicious of Diaz. It was when Diaz suddenly slowed down the vehicle and pulled a brown bag from his feet that Tulauan realized she got it all wrong.<br /><br />Apparently, Diaz pulled over to give food to a homeless woman sleeping on the street.<br /><br />Tulauan later learned that Diaz, his girlfriend and friends would do this act of kindness on a regular basis. They would chip in money and cook food to give to the homeless people. Diaz would do this simple act of kindness whether he’s driving on duty or not. Aside from food, Diaz and his friends would also give used blankets and clothes to the homeless. <br /><br />When asked how they came up with the dea of helping others, Diaz told Tulauan: “Araw-araw kasi, magda-drive ka, makikita mo sila lalo na sa gabi na nakahiga sa bangketa. Madalas mga gutom, pero itinutulog na lang yung gutom nila. Kaya naisip naming gawin `to. Para at least, makatulong kaming malamnan yung mga tiyan nila kahit isang gabi lang.”<br /><br />(Everyday you’ll drive and see them especially at night sleeping on the street. Most of the time they’re hungry but they choose to sleep with an empty stomach. That’s why we thought of doing this. But unlike other regular students, the Garaña brothers had to endure a long walk towards their “home” at the peak of a hill. Unknown to many, these young boys live inside a cave with their father.<br /><br />According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the family had no choice but to find refuge in the cave when their small hut was devastated by the typhoon Glenda in 2014. A small lamp lights their unusual home which has a small bedroom, a cooking area and a dining table.<br /><br />Most youngsters entertain themselves at home using TV or gadgets, but the two actually spend their free time playing an old-school Pinoy game, holen or marbles.<br /><br />Their teacher, Luningning Bagatua, discovered the boys’ condition during a home visitation last January 23. Although Bagatua and her co-teachers initially took pity of the brothers, they couldn’t help but admire the boys.<br /><br />“Masigasig po silang mag-aral kasi alam ko po malayo ang lugar  nila pero araw-araw po sila pumapasok maliban na lamang po kung may sakit,” Bagatua told ABS-CBN News.<br /><br />(I know they study diligently because even if they come from a far place, they come to school everyday except when they are sick.)<br /><br />Because of Bagatua’s viral post, which has earned over 16,000 shares as of this writing, several good samaritans pledged to help the brothers.
