The words “Rodrigo” and “Du” will be etched on the left pair, while “Duterte” and “30” will be imprinted on the right pair.<br /><br />In his Facebook post, he wrote: “Tatay digong i made a customized shoes and purchase it to you from nike, its your fav color the phil flag color... I don’t even wear socks,” Duterte told reporters.<br /><br />Despite his preference for simple clothing, Duterte was accused by vice presidential candidate Senator Antonio Trillanes IV of having P211 million undeclared funds and P2.4 billion worth of deposits in his bank account at the Bank of the Philippines Islands (BPI) Julia Vargas branch.<br /><br />Following his face-off with Duterte’s lawyer at the BPI branch on Monday, May 2, Trillanes filed a plunder complaint against the presidential aspirate before the Office of the Ombudsan on Thursday, May 5.<br /><br />According to Trillanes, a scheme involving ghost employees in the government of Davao City is the potential source of the supposed P2.4 billion transactions in Duterte’s accounts.<br /><br /><b>--Mini, The Summit Express</b></div>

Junasa’s contact explained why it would take seven days for the bank to disclose  Duterte’s bank account details. <br /><br />In exchange for the bank secrecy waiver of the tough talking Mayor of Davao City, Trillanes signed a waiver containing information on how he got the details on Duterte’s BPI accounts which allegedly contained P211 million and P2.4 billion in transactions. But instead of presenting the promised waiver, Panelo submitted a special power of attorney from the PDP-Laban standard bearer to ask BPI for a certification that “at no time since the opening of the account has there been P211 million whether singly, collectively, or cumulatively deposited to his name”.<br /><br />BPI asked for 7 days in order to look into Duterte’s request because of legal issues. As a result, the details will only be revealed on May 11, two days after the 2016 national elections.<br /><br />“The Bank system can only show up to 6 months transaction. Historical transaction has to be retrieved in the data warehouse and will be securely provided through a disk/cd. Thus this delay. However, BPI has already made a public announcement that no amount of 211M is really true,” the BPI I.T. officer allegedly told Junasa. <br /><br />The BPI I.T. officer also revealed that the bank was able to guarantee that no amount of P211 million was deposited into the accounts since the branch can determine the highest amount deposited.<br /><br />“However, the branch can know the highest deposit amount since opening. That is part of the system. That is why BPI was able to guarantee that no amount of 211M was deposited to the account.”<br /><br />Tagging the whole issue as “pure propaganda”, the BPI I.T. officer reportedly questioned the affidavit submitted by Trillanes. <br /><br />“It was all pure propaganda. His affidavit is all hearsay. Sourced from someone who also got it from another person which cannot be identified. Salvador Panelo, requested a copy of the account balances of the tough talking mayor’s bank accounts from BPI instead of providing a waiver.<br /><br /><b>RELATED STORY</b>: <a href="http://pinoybuzz.blogkorner.com/2016/05/duterte-trillanes-face-off-bpi-julia-vargas.html" rel="nofollow">Trillanes, Duterte lawyer face off at BPI Julia Vargas</a><br /><br />Panelo was authorized by Duterte to open the presidential aspirant’s bank account and provide a bank certification debunking the P211 million hidden wealth allegation against him.<br /><br />"I went to the bank and I had them receive the special power of attorney of Mayor Duterte authorizing me to look into the records of his bank account and to ask the bank for a certification that at no time since the opening of the account has there been P211 million whether singly, collectively, or cumulatively deposited to his name. 'Yun ang hiningi ko sa bangko,” Panelo told GMA News.<br /><br />However, Panelo revealed that BPI asked for 7 days in order to look into their request due to legal issues. This means that the bank account details will be disclosed on May 11, two days after election day if the 7-day period would only include banking days.<br /><br />Panelo added that they did not ask for a transaction history since the issue is the P211 million deposit in Duterte’s bank account. According to him, Duterte’s current balance in the said account is P17,660.<br /><br />In Trillanes’ affidavit, the lawmaker tagged a certain Joseph De Mesa as his source of information on Duterte’s alleged hidden millions. Sal Panelo, Duterte’s lawyer, was authorized to open the presidential candidate’s bank account and issue a bank certification that the presidential aspirant never amassed P211 million.<br /><br />“I have addressed the bank to issue the necessary documents. Based on the records of the bank, walang P211 million sa kanyang deposit mula pa noong ito'y binuksan niya at hanggang ngayon,” Panelo told GMA News.<br /><br />Trillanes, who is currently running for vice president, has alleged the PDP-Laban standard bearer of failing to declare P211 million in his ”secret” BPI accounts at Julia Vargas branch in 2014. Although Duterte agreed to open his bank accounts in order to disprove Trillanes’ claims, he demanded that the senator  execute an affidavit on his accusations as well as name his sources first.<br /><br />Panelo added that Trillanes needs to prove the existence of the money since bank secrecy laws prohibit banks and employees to disclose account details of its clients.<br /><br /><i>“Mayroong batas na nagsasabing hindi puwedeng mag-reveal ang bangko na anumang impormasyon kaugnay sa deposito ng isang kliyente. Nakalagay din sa batas na nagbabawal sa isang empleyado na maglabas ng impormasyon sa deposito sapagkat sila ay idedemanda sa ilalim ng batas,”</i> Panelo explained.<br /><br />(There’s a law that prohibits the bank from revealing any information about the account of a client.
