The administration of the test is DepEd's mechanism to select school heads in the public education sector - a qualifying process for interested applicants to Principal I positions. It is being implemented in coordination with the Schools Divisions Offices (DOs) through the Regional Offices (ROs).

Examination is originally scheduled on November 6, 2016 but was rescheduled to December 18, 2016 and later to April 2017 due to administrative constraints in the procurement of test materials and other issues.

The official results include the complete name of the examinees, region, raw score and standard score.

EXAM COVERAGE

The recent NQESH covered 200 multiple choice items anchored on the role of a school head as stipulated in the National Competency-Based Standards for School Heads (NCBSSH) & 21st Century Managerial Skills.

CUT-OFF SCORE

It is expected that NEAP will follow the cut-off score and not the percentile rank ( forced ranking to upper 10% regardless of the score).

The results of National Executive Committee's deliberation in January 2016 set the cut-off score to 70% overall rating with no grade lower than 68% in any of the domains.

Note that the above scenario produced 2,195 passers in the 2015 exams from the original 1,732 supposed count of passers if using the percentile rank.

RELEASE OF 2016 PRINCIPALS' TEST RESULTS

As advised, the results will be released through a DepEd Memorandum and will be posted on the NEAP official Facebook page.

Takers may expect results to come out around June to July 2017. However, any development on the checking of test papers or unforessen circumstances may change the probable release date.

June 22, 2017 Update: NEAP staff told The Summit Express that deliberation is still on ongoing. Results are most probably out by July ( no exact date).

July 4, 2017 Update: Through our inquiry, the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) - NEAP told us that results will be released on the third week of July 2017 or expected between July 17-21. Once available, it will be posted on DepEd website through a memorandum and on NEAP Facebook page.

July 14, 2017 Update: NEAP-HRDD staff told us that checking of test papers and deliberations are still ongoing. There are a lot of factors and issues to consider such as examinees not following the required Unique Tracking Code (UTC) and problems on correct shading of the answer sheets. (Note: UTC is also required for the viewing/release of results).

August 3, 2017 Update: NEAP-HRDD told The Summit Express that new target for the release of results is on or before August 31. "The delay was caused by several factors but it will be released as soon as possible."

August 31, 2017 Update: NEAP -HRDD told The Summit Express that results documents were already forwarded to DepEd officials, particularly to Secretary Leonor M. Briones, for their signing. As confirmed, release of results is most probably NOT TODAY. The definite answer we've got is "IT IS VERY SOON."

In previous exam, each taker received Official Certificate of Rating (COR) from NEAP. This will be forwarded to the regions and school divisions when all the CORs have been printed.

Those who have passed will undergo training under the School Head's Development Program.
