MANILA, Philippines - (RESULTS ARE OUT!) The August 6, 2017 Civil Service Exam results or Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test CSE-PPT including the official list of passers and topnotchers for professional and sub-professional level for 242, 901 examinees are all available here as officially released on Monday, September 11, 2017.

LIST OF PASSERS: Civil service exam results August 6, 2017 CSE-PPT release

As announced last July July 28, a total of 208,757 examinees (85.9%) will take the Professional level exam, while 34,144 examinees (14.1%) will take the Sub-professional level exam in all test centers nationwide . However, recent advisory declared suspension of CSE-PPT in Iligan City testing center in light of the current state of hostility in Marawi City, considering that majority of examinees come from Marawi. On the other hand, the CSC said to issue another advisory for the resetting of examination for the affected area.

CSC added that passing rate for both levels of examinations is 80%. Passers will be eligible for the first and second level positions in the civil service provided the eligibles meet the qualifications and other requirements of the positions (education, experience, and training).

AUGUST 2017 CSE-PPT RELEASE OF RESULTS

The CSC said that exam result will be released online within 41 days after the examination through posting the list of passers in the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph.

Official results can be expected from September 11 (Monday) to September 16 (Saturday or 41 calendar days after the exam). Note that unforeseen circumstances may cause delay on the release of results.

The Summit Express, a website which covers civil service examination for about 5 years, will ensure all of its readers and followers on social media to get updates in few weeks or days before the announcement of results.

PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS

In the October 2016 civil service exam, a total of 22,978 out of 203,339 examinees or 11.3% were able to hurdle the examinations. Garnering a rating of 91.17, Clinton John Minglana from Caraga bested 175,305 total examinees of the Professional test. Dianne Franz Abal from Western Visayas got the highest rating of 86.99 among 28,034 Subprofessional test takers.

In the October 2015 examinations, 13,152 out of 119,333 or 11.02% passed the exam (excluding figure for the suspended exam in Regions 1 and 2, Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region or CAR). Louise Marie Loreno from Davao Region and Lonn Albert Chong from Caraga led the 11,364 the professional eligibles with a rating of 86.99. For the subprofessional eligibles, Estelle Kathleen Castelo from Southern Tagalog took the top spot with a rating of 90.98.

For August 2017 CS exam results, takers may also expect of passing rate around 11% or can be translated to around 26,000 passers for both levels of exams.

GENERATION OF TEST RESULTS

Takers, both passed and failed, may get their individual test results using the OnlineCivil Service Examination Result Generation System (OCSERGS), which can also be accessed through the CSC website. Note: The date of OCSERGS availability will be posted here soon but you may expect approximately 15 days after the posting of the List of Passers.

Those who will pass should coordinate and verify with the CSC Regional Office concerned the availability of their Certification of Eligibility (CoE) and the requirements in claiming it. A complete directory of the CSC Regional Offices is available at the CSC website. Passers must personally claim their CoE. Representatives are not allowed to claim the same. Claiming of CoE shall be available approximately 30 days after the posting of the List of Passers.

A corresponding Advisory on these matters shall be posted in the CSC website. Any other concerns on examination result including verification of examinee number, examinees are advised to coordinate directly with the CSC Regional Office concerned. The CSC Regional Offices handle the releasing of examination results.

EXAMINATION COVERAGE

The Professional level exam covers the following: (1) numerical ability (i.e. basic operations, word problems), (2) analytical ability (i.e. word association, identifying assumptions and conclusions, logic, data interpretation, and (3) verbal ability (i.e. grammar and correct usage, vocabulary, paragraph organization, reading comprehension) of examinees.

The Sub-professional level exam has the same scope except for analytical ability, which is replaced by clerical ability (i.e. filing and spelling).

Additionally, exam for both Professional and Sub-professional Levels will contain general questions about the Philippine Constitution, Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A. 6713), Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts, and Environment Management and Protection.

NEXT CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION

Those who have missed filing for August 2017 exam may get exam on the first CSE-PPT next year, expected in March or April 2018. The period for filing of applications will be announced through advisory on CSC website.
