MANILA - Philippine bet Rachel Peters had one of the loudest cheers during the the Miss Universe 2017 preliminary competition. The 26-year-old beauty debuted her “Infinity walk” that led the crowd into wild cheers.
Held at the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Peters sashayed in a beautiful and intricate Val Taguba gown for the evening gown competition.
She also slayed the swimwear competition by donning a classic black two-piece wear by online store Yamamay.
For the national costume competition, Peters wowed the crowd as she wore a gold sarimanok-inspired costume by designer Val Taguba. She paired it with a fierce gold gladiator heels by Jojo Bragais.
Peters really made her presence felt during the competition, she trended on Twitter worldwide.
The judges also had a close-door interview with all the contestants. The preliminaries will determine who will be top 15 ladies included in the semifinals.
Miss Universe Introduction
For her Miss Universe introduction, Peters talked about two things she loved the most— the Philippines and surfing.
The video uploaded on the official Miss Universe Facebook, Peters shared that she’s very lucky because “the whole Philippines is behind me.” She adds that she gets her motivation from all the Filipinos who support her, it makes her “want to get up and do good for them.”
Peters who hails from the Camarines Sur, also described surfing as “addictive” and “amazing.”
Peters’ introduction video has the most views and likes with a 865,000 views and 55,000 likes.
