In a statement, Araullo said: "Although I am taking a new path, I have nothing but respect and gratitude for the company that helped me become the journalist I am today," he said in a statement. "To all the hardworking men and women of ABS-CBN, maraming maraming salamat.”

Although GMA 7 has not neither confirmed nor denied the reports, Kapuso broadcast journalists Arnold Clavio and Mike Enriquez dropped hints that Araullo will be working under the GMA News and Public Affairs soon during their morning radio program in DZBB.

While many netizens felt sad that they will no longer see Araullo in ABS-CBN shows, several netizens expressed their support on Araullo’s alleged transfer to the Kapuso network.

“Now you are free to voice out your political opinion without repression. We know you are standing by your principles & convictions. Salute,” @ruthboa15 tweeted.

“So you're transferring?! Good luck! Am a GMA fan when it comes to news & docus! They're the best!” @teresitatuazon1 commented.
