MANILA, Philippines - The popular singing competition X Factor UK is facing another controversy as Simon Cowell made a 'racist' comments to Filipino girl group 4th Impact on Saturday's 5th live shows.

Simon Cowell's alleged 'racist' comments on 4th Impact
Simon Cowell called 4th Impact members 'A and B' prompting fury from netizens

Netizens reacted to Simon Cowell's remarks after he referred to members of Pinay group as 'A' and 'B', with many on Twitter branding the judge a "racist" and "rude."

The mogul called band member Almira Cercado as "B" after their Jackson 5's "I'll Be There" performance. The girl group's mentor Cheryl Fernandez-Versini said he was out of line for not remembering their names.

Speaking to 4th Impact, he said: "I was really dreading it and then you started to sing and everything changed, because vocally, that was, and B, you were absolutely..."

Pointing to the band members he was talking about (Mylene and Almira), Cowell explained: "A, B. B, your vocal was absolutely outstanding at parts."

On their second song performance, Cowell was shocked as 4th Impact added "SIMON!! Remember my name" on the last few lines of their "Fancy"/"Rich Girl" version. The controversial judge and Cheryl gave them a standing ovation after the powerful act.

However, some netizens simply thought his comments were fine, saying "he wasn't racist at all."

Last week, Cowell challenged the group composed of Almira, Mylene, Irene and Celina to reveal their individuality though he was impressed on their performance.

On his Twitter post, he said: "Hello. I really liked X Factor last night. We have some great talent and I can't call who will leave the show tonight."

Do you think 4th Impact will continue their dream on X Factor UK despite this controversial episode?
