MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) announces the results of November 2016 exam today, May 3 after the special en banc session and once the SC approved the Chair’s recommendation. Once officially released, the list of topnotchers (top 10 passers) will be posted on this page.

Top 10 Passers: November 2016 Bar Exam Topnotchers

The results will be announced Bar exams committee chair Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr. in a press briefing at SC expected around 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. today.

A total of 6,344 law graduates tried the hurdle the the 115th year of the most prestigious professional licensure exam in the country. The series of tests were administered on November 6, 13, 20, and 27 at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Espana, Manila.

PREVIOUS EXAMINATION

A graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law, Rachel Angeli B. Miranda topped the 2015 Bar Examinations with the highest over-all rating of 87.40%. A total of 1,731 out of the 6,605 (26.21%) passed the bar.

In 2014 bar exam, Irene Mae Alcobilla, graduate of San Beda College of Law Manila aced the bar with 85.50% grade.

BAR EXAM OVERVIEW

Bar exam is also the only licensure examination not administered by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC). The 2016 edition had 100% essay-type questions based on bulletin about guide and rules of conduct of bar examinations posted on SC website.

The examination covered the following topics and their associated subtopics, popularly known as the bar subjects: Political Law and Public International Law, Labor and Social Legislation, Civil Law, Taxation, Mercantile Law, Criminal Law, Remedial law and Legal and Judicial Ethics.
