MANILA, Philippines - A graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman College of Law ranked first in the 2015 bar examinations, the Supreme Court announced Tuesday, May 3.



UP's Rachel Angeli B. Miranda was named as topnotcher with an 87.40-percent rating, leading the 1,731 aspiring lawyers who passed the competitive exams. SC said that 26.21% of all the bar exam takers successfully hurdled the exam with passing rate of 75 percent.

University of San Carlos (USC) graduate Athena Plaza placed second with a close 87.25-percent average.

On third spot was Jayson Aguilar also from UP with an 86.75 average.

In 2014 bar exam, Irene Mae Alcobilla, graduate of San Beda College of Law Manila aced the bar with 85.50-percent grade.
