MANILA, Philippines - The first and only vice presidential debate from the 'PiliPinas Debates 2016' series was held on Sunday, April 10, at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST), Manila. The full video replay of this event that will educate voters for election 2016 is now available online.


The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in partnership CNN Philippines and online media Business Mirror have successfully mounted the debate that was attended by all six vice presidential candidates.

As compared to previous debates, the UST event was started on time and CNN Philippines had shown they also deserved to stage the presidential debate.

VP candidates Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Sen. Gringo Honasan, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, Sen. Bongbong Marcos and Camarines Sur third district representative Leni Robredo squared off to discuss corruption, corruption in relation to poverty, political dynasties, human rights, peace and order, traffic and other urban problems, internet and mobile connectivity, foreign policy and the vice president as the “spare tire.”

Anti-Marcos group shout "never again" during Sen. Marcos' opening statement but hecklers were escorted out of the debate hall.
