MANILA, Philippines - Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters earned its seventh PBA championship title as it won versus Rain or Shine, 121-119, in double overtime round of Game 7 of the 40th PBA Commissioner’s Cup championship series on Wednesday night, April 29 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The intensity between two squads hit its peak - Rain or Shine hoping for its second title in franchise history and Talk ‘N Text looking to end a championship drought.

Tropang Texters finally brought home their second commissioner’s cup crown and their seventh crown since joining the league in 1990. Their first commissioner’s cup title was in 2011 with head coach Chot Reyes.

Ranidel De Ocampo was named best player with 34 points (career-high).

As the game is nearly on finish line, Castro of Tropang Texter misses jumper prolonging the match but Chism of Elasto Painter gets rebound and calls Rain or Shine timeout. The game tied at 97-all in the fourth quarter with 0.5-second remaining.

Rain Or Shine got first lead of the game during the overtime as Jericho Cruz scores fastbreak layup, 99-97.

The final game entered double overtime with 106-106 scores.

Throughout the run of the finals, Tropang Texters took the series opener, but the Painters bounced back in the next two games for a 2-1 lead. Talk ‘N Text seized the series advantage by taking Games 4 and 5. Rain or Shine, however, forced a do-or-die by claiming Game 6.
