2017 DepEd ALS A&E Test moved to March 2018: memo, requirements

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA), recently moved the schedule of the administration of the 2017 Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test to March 2018 per Memorandum No. 006, s. 2018.

The 2017 ALS A&E was originally scheduled on February 11 (Luzon) and 18 (Visayas and Mindanao). Revised schedule for these clusters are the following:

DepEd accepts applications until Thursday, February 15, 2018 (deadline of filing) at the schools division offices (SDOs) or district offices (DOs) identified by the schools division superintendent (SDS) as registration centers.

LIST OF PASSERS: DepEd releases 2016-2017 ALS A&E Exam Results

Applicants shall be at least 12 years old for the A&E Test elementary level and at least 16 years old for the A&E Test Junior High School.

The registration requirements are the following:

a. original and photocopy of Certification of ALS Program Completion issued by the Learning Facilitator (for ALS learners only)

b. original and photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) formerly National Statistics Office (NSO)

c. if copy of Birth Certificate from the PSA/NSO is not available, any of the following documents can be presented:

i. Baptismal Certificate;
ii. Voter’s ID (with picture and signature);
iii. Valid Passport;
iv. Valid Driver’s License; and
v. Any legal document bearing the applicant’s picture, name and signature (e.g. NBI Clearance, Barangay Certificate, certification issued by barangay chairman/chieftain)

d. Two 1×1 identical ID photo (white background with name tag)

TEST RESULTS

The examination results for the March 2018 ALS A&E are expected to be released anytime in May-June 2018.

"Test results shall be released not more than 3 months after the date of examination. Examinees shall receive their Certificate of Rating (COR) through the SDOs and DOs."

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA),officially released on Friday, February 9, the complete results of the 2016-2017 Alternative Learning System Accreditation and Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test. LIST OF PASSERS: DepEd releases 2016-2017 ALS A&E Exam Results

The ALS A&E was administered for thousands of examinees on November 19, 2017 for Luzon cluster and on November 26, 2017 for Visayas and Mindanao clusters.

Th exam is a paper and pencil test designed to measure the competencies of those who have neither attended nor finished elementary or secondary education in the formal school system.

Passers of the A&E Test are given a certificate/diploma, bearing the DepEd seal and the signature of the Secretary, certifying their competencies as comparable graduates of the formal school system. Passers are qualified to enroll in secondary and post-secondary schools.

Passers are those who have scored at least 75%, pursuant to DepEd Order 55, s. 2016 entitled Policy Guidelines on the National Assessment of Student Learning for the K to 12 Basic Education Program.

Note: Examinees with lacking documents and incomplete personal information in their answer sheets are subject for verification. Once verified, the results will be processed and the remaining CORs will be forwarded to respective SDOs.

DepEd said the individual Certificate of Rating (COR) of all test takers will be forwarded to their respective Schools Division Offices (SDOs).

RUNRIO honors winners of 2017 Trilogy Race Series, announces line-up of activities for 2018

MANILA, Philippines - RUNRIO Events, Inc., organizer of running events, recently held the RUNRIO Trilogy Awards at the Grand Ballroom of the Okada Manila in Pasay City.

The company recognized last year’s runners who completed the three-leg race series namely, 21k, 32k, and 42k that happened on June 25, August 31 and October 1, respectively. They also honored the fastest and oldest finishers. All awardees received a limited edition medal hanger.

“The RUNRIO Trilogy Awards is our way of showing our appreciation to all those who participated and gave everything they’ve got fueled by their #HeartToFinish strong,” said Andrew Neri, RUNRIO Events, Inc. Managing Partner.

Moreover, RUNRIO also presented YesPinoy Foundation a total of PhP500,000.00 donation. Founded in 2009, the foundation in partnership with Taclob, produces emergency bags made by survivors of Typhoon Yolanda. The aim is to provide hooded cloak backpacks with emergency kits and learner’s materials to young people in vulnerable public schools particularly those in areas affected by Typhoons.

Aside from the Trilogy Awards, RUNRIO also announced the schedule of races for 2018 as the RUNRIO Trilogy Race Series expands its presence in Cebu. This year, the first leg of the race series will be held on March 4 in Cebu and on March 18 in Manila. The second leg will be in Cebu this time on May 6 and again in Manila on June 3. The last leg will be on August 19 and again on September 23 in Cebu and Manila, respectively.

Running enthusiasts can also look forward to more exciting running activities in store for everyone. First is the 5k Family Run. For this race, teams must consist of two adults and two kids. Each kid must be 15 years or below to qualify. The 5k Barkada Run, on the other hand, is open to four adults each of whom must be 16 years of age or older. There is also the 10k Buddy Run which, is also for participants 16 years old and above.

As an added incentive for runners, participants who register in groups are entitled to a substantial discount on the registration fees.
