Mark Bautista allegedly reveals he got “intimate” with fellow actor

MANILA, Philippines - In a surprising revelation, Mark Bautista allegedly admits that he got “intimate with a guy friend” who also happens to be an actor.

In his book Beyond the Mark, due to be released this February 14, the singer got candid about a part of his life that he had long kept hidden from the public. Mark admits to having an unexpected “friendshift” with a male friend. The 34-year-old performer allegedly leaves a no hold barred confession on the details of an “affair” he had with an actor who at that time had a girlfriend.

According to some screengrabs of the book’s pages, Mark tells the story of how he and his “male friend” had fallen into a “bromance.” He shared that the two stars had been trying to avoid the temptation of seeing each other but still got “intimate” twice. After the incident, Mark promised to completely avoid the actor. It worked for several years, until one drunken night at a bar.

Mark shared that he was at a club when his “male friend” and his girlfriend joined the party. The singer-performer tried his best to evade his friend but to no avail. Once his girlfriend left, Mark described, “We then got so drunk that I ended up going home with him. I spent the night in his house and we became intimate.”

Mark admits that the girlfriend found out their affair the following day and was so angry, “This started a huge drama between the three of us. It became a spectacle.”

The incident spread like wildfire but Mark said, “I kept my silence and allowed myself to be hurt by all the rumors.” He added that despite all the rumors, he never said a word about his male friend and against his girlfriend.

Coming out?

Rumors of Mark “coming out” this year had been circulating since December 2017. The singer spent a time in London to star in the musical Here Lies Love as former President Ferdinand Marcos. Friends close to the actor believed that “Something profound happened to Mark during his prolonged stay abroad.” They added that Mark’s book, “Will leave nothing to the imagination and it is bound to cause a lot of people sleepless nights.”

Mark will also guest on Joanna Ampil’s 25th anniversary concert on February 14. The concert is coincidentally titled, Love Wins.

In this episode of the weekend top-rater that showcases the best Filipino talents from different parts of the country, another deserving group got the coveted Golden Buzzer, which brings a contestant straight to the semifinals.

This lucky group is the Nocturnal Dance Company from Quezon City, whose modern and tribal Filipino dance fusion blew the judges away especially judge Robin Padilla, who used his Golden Buzzer on them.

“I have seen many dance performances and I admit I get bored watching them because its too familiar and they are doing the same things. You, however, gave a new flavor into it and thank you because introduced and showcased the Filipino culture to our younger audiences,” Angel commented.

“It’s appealing to the eyes. Your moves were synchronized. The performance proves that you don’t need to do death-defying stunts to entertain us,” Vice voiced.

Robin, on the other hand, thought that the act was an answered prayer for him.

“This is the first time I saw Filipinos love and embrace their own culture. And with that…” Robin said before pressing the buzzer.

There are two more Golden Buzzers left this season— one from Vice and one from hosts Billy Crawford and Toni Gonzaga.

Which act will advance to the semi-finals next?

Malacañang: No more auction

Duterte had already made his statement clear weeks ago that he will not tolerate “car enthusiasts who do not pay their duties.” He said, “You want imported cars? Pay import duties first.”

The President added, “Don’t sell it because the situation will remain the same. They’ll still be the only ones who will benefit from it and they’ll be the only ones who’ll wait for the next auctions. It’s legal and it’s cheap because it’s auctioned.”

“Kayo lang ang may alam kung kailan ang auction. Binabastos ninyo ang Pilipino eh. Kaya ganoon. Marami kayong kotse pagkatapos ‘pag auction, bigyan kayo ng papel. Legal na mura pa,” he said.

Malacañang already placed a halt on the practice of putting confiscated luxury cars up for auction. Presidential Spokesperson told the media, “The thing speaks for itself. Hindi na po siya magto-tolerate ng mga auction-auction na nagiging dahilan para makapag-smuggle nga ng mga mamahaling mga sasakyan.”

Modus Operandi: Undervaluing luxury cars

Back in 2015, a ‘modus operandi’ by luxury car smugglers was discovered by the Customs Enforcement Group when a shipment of luxury cars at the Port in Batangas was seized.

In House Resolution 2269, Valenzuela City Rep. Magtanggol Gunigundo asked for a congressional investigation when they found out that importers undervalue luxury cars and declare them as low-priced models.

Gunigundo said, “We cannot afford to lose millions of taxes due to technical smuggling due to these unscrupulous smugglers and corrupt Customs officials despite the intensified drive against the illegal importation of vehicles.”
