BREAKING: LTO suspends Maria Isabel Lopez’s license

MANILA, Philippines – After couple of weeks of social media headlines, Maria Isabel Lopez’ ASEAN Lane breach sanctions have been announced on Monday, November 27, 2017.

Land Transportation Office (LTO) is revoking the veteran actress’ Driver’s License. Lopez is also prohibited from applying and reacquiring license for the next 2 years at least. Along with the revocation, the former beauty queen is also being fines for the following traffic violation: Anti-Distracted Driving Act, Disregarding Traffic Sign and Reckless Driving amounting to Php8,000.

Maria Isabel Lopez was summoned by the LTO on November 13 with the recommendation of Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) after removing the traffic barriers and cruising the ASEAN Lanes designated for VIPs, Diplomats and Dignitaries to avoid the gridlock.

Lopez admitted that she was at clearly at fault but insisted that she only followed the lead of other motorists who were ahead of her. She also bragged on social media that she received plenty of project offers after gaining so much attention online.

September 2017 LET results released in 43 working days

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announces that 21,198 elementary teachers out of 80,509 examinees (26.33%) and 49,626 secondary teachers out of 107,020 examinees (46.37%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (L.E.T.) given last September 24, 2017 in 27 testing centers all over the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand. It is further announced that of the 21,198 elementary teacher passers, 19,581 are first timers and 1,617 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 41,180 passers are first timers and 8,446 are repeaters.

LET Results Summary

The results of examination with respect to two (2) examinees were withheld pending final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examination.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be from December 4 to December 8, 2017 for Elementary Level and December 11 to December 22, 2017 for Secondary Level. The requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card (ID) are the following: 1) Notice of Admission; 2) duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal; 3) two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag); 4) two sets of documentary stamps; 5) 1 piece short brown envelope. Successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

You may also register at the PRC Service Centers in Robinsons Place Manila, Robinsons Galleria, and in Clark Skills Training Center (formerly Polytechnic College, Clark, Pampanga).

Likewise, the following campuses shall also serve as venues for initial registration from December 4 to December 15, 2017: Arellano University – College of Education in Sampaloc, Manila; University of Santo Tomas – College of Education in España, Manila; Technological Institute of the Philippines – College of Education in Quezon City; Philippine Normal University – College of Education in Manila.

The dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

Miss Colombia Laura González and Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett were the first and second runners-up, respectively.


Ninety-two ladies from around the globe competed to win the much-coveted crown.

Miss Philippines Rachel Peters, among the crowd favorite, landed on Top 10, ending her quest for the country's fourth crown in one of the world's largest pageants.

Miss Universe organization is selecting the top 12 semifinalists per continent. Four candidates from The Americas (North America, Central America, South America, Caribbean), four candidates from Europe, and four candidates from Asia, Africa, and the Oceania.

“For the first cut, three candidates from each region will be selected based on scores plus one spot for the girl with the most votes in that region,” said Norman Tinio, of normannorman.com.

Tinio added: “And then, there will be four remaining Wild Card spots from around the world.”

“So there will be four girls from the Americas, four girls from Europe, four from girls from Asia, Africa and Pacific; and four wild cards. A total of 16 semi-finalists,” said Tinio.

The event is hosted by five-time Emmy award winner Steve Harvey together with Ashley Graham, and will be graced by judges Ross Matthews, Jay Manuel, Lele Pons, Megan Olivi, Wendy Fitzwilliam, and the Philippines’ very own queen, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

International stars Fergy and Rachel Patten are also set to perform their top hits.

The three-hour special programming event aired live on FOX in the United States.

ABS-CBN Channel 2 airs exclusively on free television the live broadcast of the competition at 8:00 in the morning.

MANILA, Philippines - The November 2017 Customs Broker board exam results which include the complete list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing schools and performance of schools are out online expected on Tuesday, November 28, or in three (3) working days after the exam.

Customs broker board exam was administered on Wednesday and Thursday, November 22 and 23, in the cities of Manila, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu and Davao.

REGISTRATION OF PASSERS

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be done on-line. Please go to www.prc.gov.ph and follow instructions for initial registration.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:
  • duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag)
  • 2 sets of documentary stamps

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examination WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER, PRC said.

VERIFICATION OF RATINGS

Customs Broker board exam's verification of ratings (passers, non-passers and removal) can be done online.

Visit PRC's "Verification of Rating" service and enter the required information to verify your identity. Note that this will be available in few working days after the release of results.

NOTE: If you have 'Jr" name suffix, please add it after your FIRST NAME (i.e Eduardo Jr ) to avoid 'no matching record found' error.


COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION

The two-day exam covered the following subjects: customs law, rules, ethics and customs broker practices, customs documentation, clearance and procedures (Day 1) and tariff law, rules and regulations and internal trade, classification and practical computations (Day 2).

RELEASE OF RESULTS

According to PRC Resolution No. 2016-1019, the target release date of Customs broker board exam is on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 or in 3 working days after the exam.

In the same period last year, results were released online after two (2) working days. A total of 1,030 out of 2,022 passed the exams. Gordon College Olongapo City topped the schools with 88.71% passing rate or 55 out of 62 passed.

In the November 2015 exams, results were released in three (3) working days. PRC named 721 out of 1,764 who have passed the exams. Gordon College also led the schools, 80.00 % or 24 out of 30 successfully hurdled the tests.

We advise examinees to monitor announcement of results starting Monday, November 27.
