'Bagyong Salome' PAGASA weather update November 10, 2017

MANILA, Philippines - 'Bagyong Salome' has maintained its strength and now off the coast of Zambales-Bataan, state weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 5:00 a.m. update on Friday, November 10, 2017.

At 4:00 a.m. today, the center of Tropical Storm 'Salome' was estimated based on all available data including Subic doppler radar at 55 km Southwest of Subic, Zambales (14.5 °N, 119.9 °E).

'Salome' has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 20 kph.

PAGASA said light to moderate rains is now affecting Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Rizal and Batangas, which may persist for 3 hours.

Salome is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning (November 11).

  • 24 Hour(Tomorrow morning): 620 km West Northwest of Ambulong, Batangas (OUTSIDE PAR)(16.4°N, 115.8°E)
  • 48 Hour(Sunday morning):685 km North Northwest of Pagasa Island, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)(17.0°N, 112.7°E)
  • 72 Hour(Monday morning): 740 km North Northwest of Pagasa Island, Palawan (OUTSIDE PAR)(16.9°N, 111.0°E)

Tropical cyclone warning signal TCWS No. 2 (61-120kph expected in 24 hrs) is up over the areas of Bataan and Southern Zambales.

Meanwhile, TCWS #1 (30-60kph expected in 36 hrs) was raised for the areas of Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Batangas, rest of Zambales and northern Occidental Mindoro.

Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 250 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

Residents under TCWS #2 and #1 as well as Central Luzon and CALABARZON are advised to be alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Sea travel is risky over areas under TCWS #2 and #1 due to rough to very rough seas.

F4 Fever is back! Meet the new cast of ‘Meteor Garden’

The phenomenon is back with the remake of “Meteor Garden,” the hit Taiwanese drama of the millennium. New faces of leading characters, F4 (Flower 4) and San Chai, were revealed recently with the Kapamilya network ABS-CBN earned the broadcast rights for 2018.

The show that took Asia by storm during the 2000s catapulted stardom to Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Vic Zhou, Ken Chu and Barbie Hsu. The names Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Mei Xue, Xi Men and San Chai became household names and even some kids were named after them.

Sixteen years since its first TV premiere, the creators of “Meteor Garden” decided to make a remake.

Harper’s Bazaar China released their cover this month presenting the new faces of handsome and rich F4: Connor Leong, Dylan Wang, Darren Chen, and Caesar Wu.

A press conference is expected in a few days to reveal who will play which part. But, Barbie Hsu, the actress who played the feisty San Chai already posted on her Instagram account the photo of the new girl who will play the role, the rookie Chinese actress Shen Yue.

MANILA, Philippines - (Updated as of 8:51 p.m.) Several local government units announced class suspensions for Friday, November 10, 2017 due to inclement weather brought by tropical depression "Salome."

In a bulletin issued by state weather bureau PAGASA at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, 'Bagyong Salome' continues to move west northwestward as it approaches Southern Quezon - Marinduque area.

Tropical cyclone warning signal No. 1 (30-60kph expected in 36 hrs) is up over Metro Manila, Rizal, Bataan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate including Ticao and Burias Islands, Romblon, Marinduque, Quezon, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro.

MANILA, Philippines - 'Bagyong Salome' has maintained strength and is now in the vicinity of Batangas, state weather bureau PAGASA announced in its 8:00 p.m. update on Thursday, November 9, 2017.

At 7:00 p.m. today, Tropical Depression 'Salome' made landfall over San Juan, Batangas. The center of the weather system was estimated based on all available data at the vicinity of Bulsa, San Juan (13.7 °N, 121.4 °E).

'Bagyong Salome' has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 25 kph.
