Ginebra vs Meralco PBA Finals Governors' Cup 2017: livestream, schedule, results

MANILA, Philippines - The Barangay Ginebra and Meralco Bolts set finals rematch in the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup with Game 1 of the best-of-seven championship round scheduled on Friday, October 13 at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City.

The defending champions Gin Kings are eyeing to retain their crown while the Bolts seek redemption from last season's heartbreaking loss.

On October 8, Ginebra took advantage of an import-less TNT to notch a 115-105 victory in Game Four and finish their semi-finals series, 3-1.

Meanwhile, the Bolts swept the Star Hotshots in the semis to secure the first berth in the PBA finals.

#WalangPasok: Class suspensions on November 16-17, 2017 for ASEAN Summit

MANILA, Philippines — The Metro Manila Council (MMC) officially announced on Tuesday, October 10 the cancellation of classes on November 16 and 17, 2017 (Thursday and Friday) due to the country's hosting of the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.

Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairperson Danilo Lim said Metro Manila mayors “unanimously moved for the suspension of classes on November 16-17 for the ASEAN,” as agreed during the 9th MMC Meeting.


The suspension of classes covered private and public schools in Caloocan, Las Pinas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Manila, Marikina, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Paranaque, Pasay, Pasig, Pateros, Quezon City, San Juan, Taguig and Valenzuela.

Meanwhile, suspension of government work in NCR, will come from MalacaƱang, the council clarified.

In addition, there's no word yet from the Palace if November 13, 14, and 15 will be declared non-working holidays in Metro Manila and in other parts of the country.

On November 10- 14, 2017, the Philippines is set to host the ASEAN Summit and Related Meetings at the Clark Field, Pampanga.

Presidential Spokesperson Ernie Abella said US President Donald Trump will visit the country this November. Trump's visit underscores the improving PH-US ties and President Duterte is looking forward to welcoming the US President in Manila.

The Philippines’ year-long and third ASEAN Chairmanship in 2017 coincides with the regional bloc’s 50th founding anniversary. It will be held together with ASEAN dialogue partners Australia, Canada, China, the European union, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, South Korea and the United States.

List of holidays in October and November 2017

Based on Proclamation No. 50 issued by MalacaƱang, the following dates are the official holidays this month and in November:

  • October 31 (Tuesday) – Special non-working holiday (to give time to families to prepare for All Saints Day)
  • November 1 (Wednesday) – Special non-working holiday, All Saints Day
  • November 16 - 17 (Thursday and Friday) – 31st ASEAN Summit
  • November 30 (Thursday) – Regular holiday, Bonifacio Day
