VIDEO: Baron Geisler goes berserk, assaults UP students
MANILA, Philippines – Remember Alfonso “Fonzy” Ledesma? The boy-next-door character from the hit 90’s teen series Tabing-ilog. It was a decade-and-a-half ago since it had first aired. Admit it, Fonzy is one of the hearthrobs for the yuppies of that era. But after the show’s last episode, Fonzy’s good boy image, who was portrayed by Baron Geisler had just vanished.
Nowadays, the word “beast mode” often pertains to one’s extreme expression of anger which was invented by the social media hipsters. The funny thing here is, whenever there are memes intended for madness and brawls, the photos of Baron Geisler are always upfront. From boy-next-door to temperemental image, that’s how modern teenies describe Baron.
Geisler, a confessed alcoholic, has been in and out of the rehab since his father passed away in 2002. Along with alcoholism, he has also been involved in numerous altercation on and off the camera. The previous one was in July 2015 when he challenged the bouncers, guards and everyone inside the Skytrax Superclub in Angeles City in a fist fight. His scandal was captured in video and went viral.
Despite of the negative reactions and criticisms that Baron received from the concerned netizens and showbiz colleagues, he refused to change and maintained his bad-boy image instead.
Just this morning, another video scandal was uploaded and currently circulating in all social media platforms showing Geisler going berserk in front of students and trying to pick-up a fight.
A certain Khalil Versoza, narrated the story behind the scandal. Versoza, a fine-arts student in UP detailed that he and his classmates had a school production and contacted Baron Geisler to star the prod in exchange for an un-disclosed talent fee. Versoza admitted that there was a delay in handing the script over to the actor so when they all met at the taping vanue, Baron started to cuss and blamed everyone for the inconvenience.
He vented his ire towards Versoza’s group and went wild and amok. The 60-seconder video ended with Baron choking the guy in red.
WATCH: Baron Geisler picks-up a fight on a group of students (Warning: This video contains strong language which may be not suitable for children.)
It is still unclear wheter the former matinee idol turned action star is drunk in the video. Definitely, this is not the first time that Geisler got into a fight. The netizens are now starting to question him if he’s into illegal drugs or alcohol addiction once again. But it’s very clear that Baron has violated the law for attacking the students.
Many say that Geisler is really out of his mind and went below the belt for picking on the students. Some doubt the veracity of the video. Since this is all about school production, it could be social experiment or even part of the actual production.
As of publishing time, both Versoza and Geisler have not given any further comments on the video. Should this be proven true, the students can file a criminal case against the actor. Also, should the involved students are below 18 years old, Geisler can be accused of child and minor physical abuse which is a criminal case in the Philippine law i.e. Republic Act 7610: An act providing for stronger deterrence and special protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination, and for other purposes which is punishable by six to twelve years of imprisonment.

FORECAST: Robredo wins over Marcos in vice presidential race
MANILA, Philippines - Liberal Party (LP) bet Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo won the vice presidential race against Independent candidate Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. based on TheSummitExpress' total votes forecast including the remaining election returns (ERs) and results of overseas absentee voting (OAV).
In the probable vote counts (final, unofficial and giving full integrity to the results reflected on Comelec-GMA transparency server), Robredo is expected to edge out Marcos by more than 200,000 votes.
As of 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 15, Robredo has 14,020,498 votes against 13,802,459 of Marcos or 218,039 lead in the race. The partial results represent 96.10-percent of the ERs (90,602 of 94,276 ) or (43,708,556 of 55,735,757 registered voters).
On Saturday afternoon, results of OAV were posted online by Comelec Commissioner Rowena V. Guanzon. Marcos trounced Robredo by 86,734 votes. Overseas voting turnout set record of 31-percent (432,706 out of 1,376,067).
Guanzon said that OAV votes will not be in the transparency server. It will be manually uploaded [to the central server].
The combined votes (PH partial and OAV) will cut the lead of Robredo to 131,305 votes.
While the OAV counts are crucial to decide who will be the next vice president of the country, the remaining local votes that still to be transmitted to the Comelec server will be a big factor for the race.
Comelec Chair Juan Andres “Andy” Bautista announced that the poll body’s voter turnout for the May 9 polls reached a historic 81.62 percent. Of the 55,735,757 million registered voters, about 45 million actually exercised their right of suffrage.
The combined data from transparency server shows that 43,708,556 of local votes already counted. This adds to the 432,706 votes from OAV. The expected remaining votes stood at around 1.3 million votes.
Based from the data of Inquirer for the precincts left until 100-percent transmission (as of May 13), the grand total of registered votes is around 1.2 million or can be translated to 1 million using 81.62-percent turnout.
The Summit Express has calculated the most probable votes per province (areas have yet to transmit election returns) using the results map of Rappler (Who is Winning Where?) and the percentage votes of candidates based transmitted returns. The idea is demography has direct relation to the majority of the casted votes.
Data analysis shows Robredo might get 366,402 as compared to Marcos' 287,638 total votes in the remaining precincts nationwide. The probable vote counts (PH final, unofficial including OAV) of Robredo and Marcos will climb to 14.48 and 14.27 million respectively.
For transparency, here's the sample computation of votes:
Reports said that official canvassing of votes for the presidential and vice-presidential election will most likely to start on May 25. It is the sole jurisdiction of the Congress sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, according to the poll body.
Under the Constitution and the election law, there are two types of certificates of canvass (COCs) that Congress will use in its tally: the electronic certificates to be generated by the computerized consolidation and canvassing system and the manually accomplished COCs to be delivered by the provincial, city and special canvassing board to the Senate.
Senate President Franklin Drilon could not give a timeframe on when the entire canvassing would be concluded, although they have until June 30 to proclaim a president and vice president.
Disclaimer: The unofficial figures and sample computations above do not intend to create confusion, but it has a goal to give a quick analysis of the possible result of the vice presidential election.
