Netizens slam anti-Duterte video ad on ABS-CBN

On Thursday night, May 5, the controversial political ad with the aim to tarnish reputation of Duterte has started airing on the Kapamilya Network.

"Sinisimulan na pala nila ang worth 20M na anti Duterte commercial na tinanggihan ng ibang stations at tanging Isang station lang ang kumagat. Hays. Hindi nyo na mapipigilan ang sigaw ng mga tao! Change is coming," parody account Senyora Santibañez posted on Facebook.

Netizens also pointed out child exploitation on the half-minute commercial.

Some reports said that similar ad will be aired also on rival networks GMA-7 and TV5.

To express support to the survey front-runner, netizens has trended "DUTERTE TILL THE END" on top of microblogging site.

On Thursday afternoon, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano warned the public about the negative advertisements against his partner supposed to be aired on Friday or or three days before the elections.

In a report by Inquirer, Cayetano claimed that his source said the deal was rejected by other TV networks, but ABS-CBN’s ethics committee allegedly “blindly approved” the offer.

“They are so desperate that, aside from the full barrage of trimedia attacks against Mayor Duterte, they are now trying to push for millions in advertisements in major networks in the last few days of the campaign,” Cayetano said.
