Baby tragically dies after ob-gyne reportedly refused admission of mother in labor

MANILA, Philippines - Andrew Pelayo and his wife lost their baby after a certain ob-gyne of the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Hospital refused the latter’s admission while she was in labor on Friday, February 19.

Andrew Pelayo blames Dr. Ana Liezel Sahagun for the tragic death of his baby.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Pelayo revealed that he brought his wife, who was experiencing bleeding at that moment, to the said hospital at around 3:00 am since she has been undergoing check-ups there since November 2015. After the doctors verified that the baby inside the womb was still alive based on its heartbeat and movement count, a certain Dr. Ana Liezel Sahagun reportedly asked Pelayo’s wife if they have enough money to pay for the hospital bills. Pelayo’s wife requested the doctor to talk to Pelayo since he is the one who is employed.

After 45 minutes, Dr. Sahagun allegedly approached Pelayo to inform him that his wife’s birth canal is still closed and that they have enough time to have his wife transferred to another hospital. Pelayo, who was only holding P6,000 at that time, was apparently told that they wouldn’t be able to pay for the hospital expenses since the tests they will conduct would already amount to P5,000.

“Sir, dapat may dala kayong P20,000 para ma-admit yung asawa niyo dito sa UST dahil cash basis po tayo dito. Hindi niyo talaga kakayanin dito sa UST,” Dr. Sahagun allegedly told Pelayo.

(Sir, you should have P20,000 to have your wife admitted in UST since the hospital is on cash basis. You wouldn’t be able to afford UST.)

After being forced to sign a waiver, which Pelayo unfortunately failed to read due to his wife’s situation, Pelayo was left without a choice but to bring his wife to Jose Reyes Hospital. Upon learning that the hospital did not have an incubator, Pelayo decided to bring his wife back to UST hospital.

“Sir, bakit pa kayo bumalik dito? Di ba sinabi ko naman sa inyo hindi niyo kakayanin dito. Dahil mo na yan sa East Avenue aabot pa kayo,” Dr. Sahagun told Velayo after seeing him return to the hospital.

(Sir, why did you return? I told you that you wouldn’t be able to afford it. Bring her to East Avenue, she’ll still make it.)

Despite his pleas, Dr. Sahagun apparently declined to admit Pelayo’s wife. This and his wife’s worsening condition prompted him to rush her to East Avenue Hospital. While they were on their way to the hospital, Pelayo’s wife told him that the baby wasn’t moving anymore.

When the doctors checked the baby’s stats, they found that the baby doesn’t have a heartbeat at that point. Pelayo’s wife was immediately brought to the operating room where she underwent surgery. At around 6:19 am, Pelayo’s lifeless baby came out.

Although Pelayo’s wife survived the ordeal, one of the doctor informed him that his wife barely made it alive.

“Buti umabot pa kayo dahil ilang minuto nalang, pati sana asawa mu wala na rin.” the doctor told Pelayo.

(It’s good that you were able to make it because in a matter of minutes, your wife could have died.)

Dr. Sahagun and the management of UST hospital are yet to release an official statement about the issue as of press time.

Pacquiao’s campaign car allegedly parked outside his mistress’s mansion

The of daughter former Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Anacleto Badoy, Dr. Lorraine Marie T. Badoy has posted a photo of Pacquiao’s campaign car parked in front of a mansion reportedly located in Soliven 3 corner Finland St. in Loyola Grand Villas in her Facebook account on Tuesday, February 23. Although Badoy did not name the owner of the said mansion, she claimed that it is common knowledge in their village that the fighting Congressman’s mistress resides there.

Guess what I saw when I went on a run this morning in my village? Manny Pacquiao's campaign car in front of his mistress...

According to Badoy, she had no intention of exposing the world boxing champion’s private life until he expressed his views on same-sex unions. Pacquiao, who compared homosexuals to animals during his controversial interview with Bilang Pilipino, earned the ire of netizens who support the LGBT community.

Badoy stressed in her post that the Senatorial aspirant, whom she accused of being a hypocrite, is making a mockery of marriage of vows.

“And yet not even a week after letting loose his obscene, ignorant, hateful pronouncements that made so many of us hurt so bad (at least the compassionate, enlightened, intelligent half of humanity. The rest of his ignorant, uneducated, hateful, barefoot brethren sang him praises, as expected), here is Manny making a mockery of the very same vows he claims to hold in such high standards,” she wrote.

Badoy’s post quickly spread like wildfire generating almost 600 shares as of press time. While several netizens pointed out that Badoy’s photo does not prove anything, others challenged Badoy to post a photo of Pacquiao’s alleged mistress in front of the mansion as evidence.

Others also came to Pacquiao’s defines saying that the 37-year-old world-class athlete is currently in General Santos City training for his upcoming fight.

An article by Bandera in 2009 mentioned that Krista Ranillo, daughter of actor Mat Ranillo III who was previously linked to Pacquiao, as well as her former boyfriend director Dominic Zapata had plans of buying a 500-square meters property in the same village. Ranillo tied the knot with a businessman in 2010 and is currently residing in Beverly Hills with her husband and three kids.
