Kris Aquino apologizes for her 'Quits na' sunburn post

MANILA, Philippines - Presidential sister Kris Aquino on Saturday morning apologized for her 'insensitive comments' comparing her sunburned back to the predicament of thousands who were affected of the road closing during the APEC summit in Manila.

On her Instagram post, the actress who gained ire of netizens humbly apologized on her self-depricating humor "Quits na tayo sa lahat ng nahirapan mag commute these past few days, patas ang mundo, patche patche naman ang balat ko" on Thursday night.

"I humbly apologize for my self-depricating humor Thursday night that came across as being spoiled and insensitive. I'm sorry," Kris posted.

Kris added that in the future, she will leave joking to her bestfriend comedian Vice Ganda.

The Queen of All Media also left good vibe post: 'Have a wonderful, stress free, love filled weekend ahead of you."

She got her sunburn after hosting the luncheon for the wives of world leader together with her sisters Pinky, Ballsy and Viel and having some tour at the Fort Santiago on Thursday.

List of Passers: November 2015 Civil Engineering (CE) board exam results

Those awaiting results of November 2015 Civil Engineer (CE) board exam can find here the alphabetical list of passers, top 10 (topnotchers), top performing school and performance of schools as the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board of Civil Engineering released results in few working days after the last days of exam.

The Board of Civil Engineering headed by Engr. Praxedes P. Bernardo with Engr. Pericles P. Dakay and Engr. Romeo A. Estañero, Members administered the Civil Engineer board examinations on Wednesday and Thursday, November 18 and 19, 2015 in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena and Tacloban.

CE board exams cover the following major subjects: mathematics, surveying and transportation engineering, hydraulics and geotechnical engineering (November 18) and structural engineering and construction (November 19).

According to PRC, target release of Civil Engineering board exam results is on Wednesday, November 24, 2015 or in 2 working days after the exam. Note that work in the public sector (including PRC) has been suspended on November 20 (Friday) due to the APEC Summit.

In December 2014, results were announced online in 3 working days. PRC named a total of 4,021 out of 8,127 new civil engineers who hurdled the exams.

In May this year, results also out in 3 working days. 1,361 out of 4,311 takers passed the tests.

Aside from the full results, the registration schedule for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will be announced. Those who will register are required to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 1 piece passport size picture (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2015-2018.

PRC said that successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Oxford Dictionaries' Word of the Year 2015 is..not a 'word'

For the first time, Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year is not a word but a pictograph popularly known as the ‘Face with Tears of Joy’ emoji.

Emoji was chosen by the free online english dictionary as it best reflected the ethos, mood, and preoccupations of 2015 and the use of emojis surged significantly according to the study of mobile technology business SwiftKey.

The small digital image or icon came from Japanese word e ‘picture’ + moji ‘letter or character’ which is similar to the English word emoticon.

Emojis have been around since 1997 and its usage was tripled in 2015 compared to previous year based on the data of Oxford Dictionaries Corpus.

But, what are the words that were shortlisted this year?

Last year, the word "vape" emerged victorious as the most popular word. It is an abbreviation of vapour or vaporize with the verb means ‘to inhale and exhale the vapour produced by an electronic cigarette or similar device.’ In 2013, "selfie" has been named as word of the year.
